I picked this up one day from the Vitamin Shoppe as I was in need for a cheap shaker bottle. It seemed to work well at first as long as you made sure to close the lid tightly, which wasn't always easy. It usually took a minute or two to get it on properly and make sure it was tight in order to prevent leaking. After a couple of months of use, the rubber that keeps the lid tightly in place began to tear. Needless to say that without it, it leaks. It's hard to say to avoid such a cheap item, but save yourself the trouble and go with a shaker that snaps on. Much easier to get on and off, I've never had leaking issues, and also doesn't have any grooves in case you decide to drink directly from the container.
