I have been a longtime fan of Polar products. I recently purchased a new Wearlink transmitter and replacement chest strap. I immediately noticed the chest strap redesign. The chest strap now uses a side-hook and loop combination to fit around your chest instead of a snap design. I was very skeptical of the longevity of this type of design and my skepticism was unfortunately rewarded. After only 2 weeks, the thin black fabric loop of fabric near the side hook peeled off. Then after little more than a month of fairly light use (3X/week, 45 minute sessions) the stitching that creates the loop for the side hook ripped off completely. I can no longer wear the strap so I am without a heart rate monitor again. If mine ripped after such a short time, I can only imagine how long this strap will last as a whole. The version with the snaps lasted me for years. Why in the world did they change it?Get more detail about Polar WearLink+ Replacement Strap (Medium-XX-Large).
